AK74 Recoil in Black Ops 6: A Bigger Problem Than People Realize

I’ve been seeing a lot of discussions lately about the AK74’s recoil in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and honestly, it’s a bit frustrating how it’s been received. The recoil is a problem, yes, but I think people are missing the bigger issue here: the overall balancing of the weapon.

In theory, the AK74 is supposed to be a high-damage, hard-hitting assault rifle. But right now, the recoil makes it difficult to compete in mid-range engagements unless you’re an absolute expert with recoil control. Even when using recoil compensating attachments, you’re still going to struggle to maintain accuracy, especially in high-pressure situations. It doesn’t feel fair when other rifles in the same category seem to have significantly more stable recoil.

I get that developers want to keep guns balanced, but the current recoil pattern for the AK74 just makes the weapon feel unfun to use. You can’t go into a gunfight with confidence knowing that a couple of missed shots because of uncontrollable recoil could mean your death. The AK74 is supposed to reward precision and skill, but right now, it punishes you for making minor mistakes.

What’s even more concerning is how many people seem to be dropping the AK74 entirely and opting for other guns that don’t have such severe recoil issues. If you want to keep the AK74 in the meta, you need to either reduce the recoil or provide better ways for players to control it, whether through attachment buffs or some tweaking to the weapon’s recoil mechanics.
